Dear Nick,
Happy 4th of July Monkey! I truly cannot believe it’s already July. June turned out to be a busy month for us though, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that it flew by. Still I’m really enjoying our summer, so I don’t want it to go by so quickly.
You had a lot of fun at school last month. The first two weeks you were finishing up school time before summer camp started. There were a lot of fun themed days to celebrate the end of the year. Your favorite one was favorite shirt day. I knew without a doubt that you would want to wear your Toodles shirt (picture above). When we arrived at school you kept holding your shirt out and telling everyone that it was your Toodles shirt. It was so cute. Once the school year was done summer camp started. That meant that there was less school work and more play time. You have been exhausted! One of the fun things you get to do though is go on weekly field trips. Field trip days are actually held on one of the days that you don’t go to school, but I felt they would be good for you, so we go together and I help chaperone. The first one was a trip to the park. We were there for three hours. By the time it was done we were both exhausted. Still they’re fun, and I love that we get to have that special time together.

We also were busy last month with daycations (as I have dubbed them). For Father’s Day Grandpa wanted to go to Greenfield Village to see a special car show. I’m not sure you enjoyed looking at all of the old cars the way Grandpa and Uncle David did, but you still had a great time. Plus you were so well behaved. Granted you usually are well behaved, but on that day you were absolutely fantastic. You loved seeing the old round house, and you loved playing in the play cars. With the play cars they had put out some old play gas pumps and you loved getting out of the cars to get gas. You’ve always been fascinated with getting gas for the cars.

The other fun thing we got to do was go to Cedar Point, or Snoopy’s House as we called it for you. We all had the best time. The place where Nana works set-up a great deal for all of their employees so we got to go in for a great price and lunch was included. I think your favorite ride was the Sky Way. You loved going, “Up in the sky.” You certainly don’t seem to have your father’s fear of heights. Of course you loved seeing the Peanut characters too, but you were happy to see them from afar. You did get some special attention from Linus that you were very excited about. We stayed there for eight hours and you were happy and good the whole time. You were so exhausted though that you fell asleep before we had even gotten out of the parking lot!

Of course you continue to grow and develop. Your musical ear is starting to show itself more too. We’ve had a feeling for awhile that you are going to be musically inclined. Of course you come by it naturally from both Mommy and Daddy. You blew me away last fall when we were in Disney. We were in the bathroom in the lobby of our resort and music was playing. You got all excited by it and said, “Mommy it’s Buzz!” More of the music played before I recognized it and realized that sure enough it was a song from Toy Story. Now you’re starting to sing though. You love to sing along with the theme songs for your shows. I especially love when you’re playing with your Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. You’ll quietly sing the theme song to show, and of course you include the entire roll call.

You also grew a little last month. You were due for a growth spurt. I can tell from how your shirts fit that your torso grew some, but not enough that you need to stop wearing lasts summer’s clothes yet. You’re just so tiny. Now I’m not complaining, but I think it’s funny that we’ve had to go out and by more 18 month shorts for you. Anything bigger simply won’t stay up, and the actually aren’t too short looking. I must say that I love that you get to wear again all of my favorite outfits from last summer! I did stock up on clothes for this summer though that I think are going to be hanging, unworn, in your closet for a long time.

We have quite a few things already scheduled for July, so I’m sure this month is going to fly by as well. Next week is especially busy, and you have your next allergy appointment. I’ve got everything crossed that when it’s done we’ll have found out that your egg allergy is completely gone! I think we’ve tested everything but an actual egg. Although some of the foods were in very small amounts. I haven’t had the courage to feed you an actual egg again though. I don’t ever want to go through that experience again! Fingers crossed!
Love,
Mommy
