Dear Nick,
Usually I feel like the months fly by, but last month was a bit different. Honestly I was surprised when May finally arrived. It’s not that April dragged on. It’s the fact that we packed so much stuff into the month. It doesn’t seem possible that we did as much as we did in only a few weeks!

First we had Easter weekend which we kicked off by dying eggs. You have never really dyed eggs before. We made some for your third Easter, but you were still a bit too young to help. Last year we just used plastic eggs since you can’t even eat the eggs. You really wanted to dye eggs this year though. You had a great time and did a good job too. You made it through 10 of the 12 eggs before you had had enough. We were impressed with how long you stuck with it.

Easter day was a lot of fun too. You were so excited to get up and find everything. Nana and I laughed because you zeroed in on the eggs and kept walking passed all of your baskets. You eventually noticed your oversight though and you were very excited about your new toys.

Less than a week after Easter we loaded up the car and headed to Walt Disney World. I thought it would be a great trip, but it was even better than that! It simply was one of the best vacations ever! The weather was great and your excitement over everything was the best.

You were in love with the characters. The last few times we’ve gone they have overwhelmed you, but not this time. I knew things had changed when Doc. McStuffins started walking to our table during our Disney Junior lunch. When you saw her you got the biggest grin. I’ll never forget that moment. From that point on you couldn’t get enough of the characters. You hugged them, high fived them, fist bumped them, and showed them your new toys. You loved every minute of it and so did I. I made so many memories on that trip that I will treasure and never forget.

Two days after we got home from vacation it was your birthday! I can’t believe you’re 4! We bought mini cupcakes for you to share with your friends at school. You were actually very upset when we got to school and there were no decorations and no one jumped out and said, “Surprise!” I think you may have seen too many birthday Disney Junior episodes including the show the week before in Disney! Needless to say that Nana and I went to the party store on our lunch break to buy some balloons to “decorate” the house with.

Of course we finished off the month by
going to see Thomas the Train at Greenfield Village. As always that was a ton of fun. You have become such a big Thomas fan. You loved seeing all the trains and getting to ride on Thomas.

See? April turned out to be quite the month! Oh, and at the very end of the month you started going to soccer as well. The craziness simply didn’t end!

You started coming out of your shell more last month which was very exciting to see. You didn’t have trouble saying things to adults while we were in Disney (including one particular bus driver that you told to drive carefully). You were saying things to adults all overt he place. There was one little boy that you played with at the hotel too. You two played in the pool together. You even played splash each other which was a
huge step for you!

Now it’s time for a new month. Hopefully May is a lot of fun and creates more great memories. It will be really hard to top April though!
Love,
Mommy
