Snoopy’s All Star Football App Review

My mother has been a big Snoopy fan since she was a kid. She passed that love down to me and my brother, but my brother was always a slightly bigger fan than I was. Then Nick came along. I’ve joked for years that Nick’s love of snoopy rivaled my brother’s. One of his favorite things to do is to play with his Peanut character toys, and he can quote most of The Great Pumpkin. He also loves his Peanut apps that I have gotten for him, so when I was offered the chance to review Cupcake Digital’s Snoopy’s All Star Football app I jumped at the chance.

Snoopy’s All Star Football app is, not surprisingly, based on a football story (bet you didn’t see that one coming!). Basically Charlie Brown and Snoopy are trying to get their friends together for a friendly football game. It ends up being a boys versus girls game. The boy’s team is one player short, but a new kid comes to join the game at the last minute. Will the boys win the game, or will the girls go home with bragging rights?

Snoopy’s All Star Football app is a lot like other cupcake digital apps in that it contains both a story and a game. Unlike the other apps from them that I have reviewed in the past though this app only has one game. Although that game contains multiple levels compared to several single level games that the other apps had. I wasn’t sure if Nick would like that it only contained one game, but it has never bothered him.

Nick really enjoys this app, but I have to admit that it took him awhile to get into it. He always liked the story part, but the game was not real easy for a 3 year old to play. The game is a football game. You have to make the players throw the football to other players so they can score which helps you move up levels. The game does highlight what players to throw the ball to, which is helpful, but you have to do it pretty fast. Also at 3 Nick couldn’t understand that he needed to click on the first player and then draw his finger over to the correct player in just the right way to make them catch the ball. Truthfully it’s still pretty advanced for him, but he gets it enough that he can sometimes make it work, and that’s all that’s needed to make him happy. I’m sure there are a lot of kids his age that would find it frustrating though.

Overall I do really like this app, and I’m sure it would be a hit with all Snoopy fans. I do think though that the game is geared towards older kids. Nick does enjoy it though, and an enjoyable app that can keep him entertained now and again is always a winner in my book! Snoopy’s All Star Football app is available for both Android and IOS devices.
