Jamberry Pedicure: How To Have Great Looking Toes

Sharing is caring!

Having my nails done is my beauty weakness which is one reason I love Jamberry so much. During the summer months I especially love being able to do a Jamberry application on my toes to give my toes a fabulous Jamberry pedicure!

Having a great looking pedicure can be so great, but painting my toes is a literal pain. The toe separator always hurts and walking around on my heels while I wait for my toes to dry isn’t very pleasant either.

A Jamberry pedicure was the answer that I needed! Now with Jamberry Nails I can do my toes without needing to separate them and I don’t need to wait for polish to dry. In fact, during a reason application I even took a break during my application to stop and make lunch!

It’s almost a bonus that they last so long. They should last for up to 6 weeks, but I honestly wear them for at least 8. In fact I wore one set for so long that it looked like I was wearing French Tips on my toes because they had grown out so much!

I didn’t have any difficulty with applying my first set of toe wraps. I watched a few YouTube videos and felt ready to go. Yet I have Jamberry customers that tell me all the time that they are scared of trying a Jamberry Pedicure. They’re so afraid of messing it up.

I’ll admit it can be a bit confusing the first time around, so I wanted to break down how to do a pedicure with Jamberry Nail wraps.  Trust me that once you do it you’ll become hooked on them.

How Give Yourself a Jamberry Pedicure

Applying the wraps for a Jamberry pedicure is a bit different then the way you would traditionally apply them on your nails, but there are many similarities. The biggest difference is really how you prep the wraps.

For a manicure you cut the correct size wrap in half and apply. For a pedicure you will still do that for your big toe, but not for the rest of them. To get those warps you take the largest wrap on the sheet and cut it into eight pieces to apply to all of your remaining toe nails. You can see what I mean in the picture below. The very bottom picture shows how the largest wrap should be cut up.

I do that as I go. As you’ll see in my video below I usually just find the wrap that seems to fit the nail I’m working on the best, trim it enough to fit, and go from there. If you want to get the best sized pieces than trim the entire wrap while it’s still on the plastic and don’t just wing it as I do in my video.

Every sheet of Jamberry Nail wraps will give you two pedicure applications. For the pedicure you use the largest two wraps on each side of the sheets. Second largest wrap is for your big toe and the largest wrap is for the rest of your toes.

Jamberry Toe Application Process

Nail Prep

As with any Jamberry application nail prep is important, but luckily for a pedicure it doesn’t take as much work. I push back my cuticles and I always swipe my nails with our Nail Prep Cleanser (or you can use rubbing alcohol) before applying the wrap.

If you have any toes that have a cuticle buildup on them (my pinky toes are more cuticle than nail I swear) then take the time to try and scrape that off. Otherwise the wraps won’t last very long. I like to scrape mine with my Metal Cuticle Groomer. I personally don’t wash my toes before application like I do with my hands, but if your toe nails are dirty than you should.

Note: I do not cut my toe nails before I apply my wraps. I think you get the best seal by cutting the nail with the wraps after they have cooled. For this reason I only apply the to wraps when my toe nails are long enough to be cut.

Apply the Wraps

Once you have prepped your toe nails then it’s time to apply the wraps. Even if you have already wiped all of your toes off you’ll still want to clean each nail off again before you apply the wrap. Once the cleaner or alcohol has dried off (in a few seconds) peel the wrap off from the protective backing. It is very important that you don’t touch the adhesive on the back of the wrap with your fingers, so use the orange stick that came in your application kit or a pair of tweezers.

At this point you can give the wrap a blast of heat from your heat source or you can apply it directly to the nail. I personally prefer to skip the initial heating of the wrap. Lay the wrap on your nail, check that the positioning is to your liking (move it if needed), and then push the wrap down with your finger. At this point you should take your heater and hold it over your toe nail to heat the wrap up.

Once you’ve heated the wrap take the purple cuticle stick that came in your application kit and use it to apply a lot of pressure to the wrap. If you don’t have a purple stick than just apply pressure with your fingers. I would then give it some more heat and a little more pressure, but this time I would just use my finger. Then leave it and move on to the next toe. If the wrap is hanging off your toe too much you can trim it a little, but make sure it’s still hanging past your toe nail.

Trim the Wrap

Once you have applied the wraps to all of your toes it’s time to trim the excess off. To do this take your nail trimmers and cut the wrap and nail to the length that you want your toe nail. I hate long toe nails, so I personally trim as far down as I can get the toe nail to go. Once you do that to all your nails you’re done! Now you will have great looking toes for weeks!

  2. I’ve been interested to learn more about Jamberry nails. Are they merely stickers on your nails? Are there chemicals or toxins in the wraps? Or is the draw that they are healthier than using nail polish. I clearly see the value of not having to wait for nails to dry but my big motivation is the green beauty angle.

    1. Caryn our products are a healthier version than other nail products. They are non-toxic, they aren’t tested on animals, and they don’t contain any latex, led, or GMOs. Our lacquers are also 5-free meaning that they do not contain the 5 toxic chemicals that most nail polishes have. You can see the product benefits in the picture below. Please let me know if you have any other questions about them! πŸ™‚ I’d also be happy to send you a sample to try if you’d like!
