Nick’s First Vacation: Cozumel (Part 3)

Sharing is caring!

By the time we got back on the ship we were all starving.  We wanted to go right to lunch, but we had to stop by the room to get Nick’s sippy cup.  Jason was in the room watching a movie, so he came to lunch with us.  It was pretty busy at the food stands since so many people were still on the ship due to the rain.  We were able to find a place to sit though, and we all had a nice lunch together.

After lunch Mom and I strolled Nick around the ship.  Since the rain had kept a lot of people on the ship they had added more activities for the day.  One of the things they had added was a Disney Junior dance party.  You may remember that I had wanted to take Nick to that on our day at sea, but I had gotten the location wrong.  I was very excited to get a second chance to take Nick.  The timing was perfect too.  It was to go from 1:30 to 2:00, so it would end at the start of nap time.

Since we were in port none of the stores were open, so there was only so much strolling we could do.  We finally decided to go for our big daily walk since we had missed out on it that morning.  We got off the Mid-Ship Elevator on the fourth deck and were just about to head out to the jogging track when we spotted Minnie on the other side of the balcony.  She had not been scheduled to be out, so there was hardly any one in line to see her!  Of course we ran right over.  We got really lucky because when it was our turn to see Minnie there was no one in behind us, so we got to spend some extra time with her.  As with every other character meet Nick ate it up.  He is so not his mother!

Meeting Minnie

When our time with Minnie was over we headed out to get our walk in.  We had gotten two of our three miles in by the time that we needed to go in for the party.  The party happened to be on the same deck we were already on, so getting there was quite easy.  When we walked into the Studio D they had all of the dance lights going and they were playing Disney Junior music.  Nick loved it!  He’s a very big Disney Junior fan, and we have some of the CDs from the shows, so he knew what was playing.

Dancing

Nick switched on and off from me holding and dancing with him to his standing on the ground and dancing (kinda) with me.  There were a couple Cast Members leading the party.  One of them told the kids that if they were all dancing and having fun that some special friends would come and join them.  Well, you can imagine Nick’s excitement when out of the curtains came Chip and Dale two of his favorite characters!  Daisy was there too, but he didn’t care much about her.  Nick had the best time.  We danced to Mickey music, Jake music, and we even did a Chuggington train dance!  There weren’t a lot of little kids there either, so there was plenty of room to move around and have fun.

Chuggington Train Dance

At 2:00 the characters had to leave, but the Cast Members were going to keep the party going.  After so much excitement from the day Nick was not able to keep up with them.  He was obviously ready to crash, so we took him up to our cabin for his nap.  For the first time on vacation it took very little to get him to go to sleep.  Even without our special excursion it had been a very fun morning, and with Nick asleep it was time to keep the good times rolling with a coffee break!

  1. I wish I had taken my kids to a dance party – they totally would have been into it! Also, I am totally taking the grandparents on the next cruise.
