Living The #GoodLife

Life is full of ups and downs. Even Good Life moments don’t come without their stresses and fears. Some of those stresses and fears come from problems that we need insurance to help fix. When you think of insurance companies your probably think of them fixing your problems, but Allstate doesn’t want that to be how you think of them. Can you think of any Good Life moments from your life that came with stresses and fears? The biggest one that sticks out in my mind is when we bought our house. Right after we got married Jason and I got a two bedroom townhouse in a co-op. It was a wonderful first place and we were very happy there. That is until we were expecting Nick. Then it started to feel small. We thought about buying a house, but we weren’t sure we would be able to. We started looking at houses, but not real seriously. Wouldn’t you know that we found one that we fell in love with.
It wasn’t at all what I had been envisioning for our home. It was old (built 1876), but the size was right and it had so much character. Best of all it was a repo with a price that we thought we could easily handle. In the blink of an eye we went from casually looking to rushing to get approved for a mortgage.
The entire process was a nightmare. The first mortgage we were approved for was a FHA one, and we didn’t think the house could pass the requirements the mortgage entailed. We tried it anyway. Due to it thought the seller countered our first offer with the total asking price and the requirement that we fix all of the problems in the house ahead of time. Yeah that wasn’t happening, so we rushed again to get approved for a different type of mortgage to add to our counter offer.
These types of things went back and forth for weeks. Being pregnant made the whole situation that much worse. There were a lot of tears and I just wanted to walk away from the whole mess. My mother wouldn’t let me though. She told me that it would happen and that it would all be worth it in the end.
She was right! Moms are always right aren’t they? We’ve been in our house now for almost two and a half years. We are so happy here. We have already made so many wonderful memories. I can’t imagine raising our family anywhere else. The whole process was truly a royal headache, but it was worth all of the stress and tears. We wouldn’t be living our Good Life without our wonderful home. I can’t imagine what our life would be like if we didn’t get our house.

Buying a home is a huge deal and stressful in the best of circumstances… being pregnant, well, that would be double the stress.
I love my allstate car insurance.
Probably my biggest “Good Life” fear was having kids. I LOVED being pregnant, but the thought of a C-Section scared the poo out of me. (Ultimately, I didn’t have C-Sections.) My kids bring SO MUCH joy to my (and my husband’s) life! I wouldn’t change the fear that came with the excitement!
wow, that is an older home and I know that it can be hard to get insurance for homes over 100 years old, at least in our area. Glad it all worked out.
Yes, house buying can definitely be a stressful situation at times, but in the end you look back on the experience and remember why you went through it all.
We just sold our vacation home and am looking for a small condo in South Florida. It is such a PITA, but it’s always worth it in the end.

Moving is always stressful and I’ve done it so many times, I’ve lost count at this point.
House buying IS stressful — but once you’re settled in you realize how great it is to be home.
Moving and buying a home is one of those things that can be stressful!
