Zubie Can Help A New Year’s Resolution

There are many typical New Year’s resolutions that people make.  One of those is often to get finances under control.  Now this exact resolution can vary from person to person.  Some people want to pay off debt while others just want to get their spending under control.  For me I would like to see an increase in the amount of money that we have left after we pay the basic monthly bills.  One way I can make that happen is by using Zubie.

What is Zubie?

Zubie is a service that allows you to track your driving behavior and it provides a real-time information report on the health of your car.  This type of car monitoring is one of the hottest up and coming technological advances.  Some of the newest, top of the line, car models are going to be offering this type of technology, but with Zubie you can have it right no.  Plus you don’t have to spend a fortune on a new car to get it!

So what exactly can Zubie do?  It can track and monitor how you, and other family members, drive.  Do you speed?  Do you use sudden acceleration or hard braking?  It will tell you so you can make adjustments to how you drive so you can be a safer driver.  You can also use it to keep up on your car’s maintenance.  It’s a great way to save some extra money.  You won’t have to spend the big bucks to be towed after your car breaks down because you’ll know of problems before they get out of control.  As an added benefit  the service can help you figure out where the car is, so if someone is running late, or you’re worried because the roads are bad due to weather, than you can figure out where your loved ones are at.

Zubie is a service and not an accessory.  You connect it to your car with an easy-to-install key.  Then it uses a cellular connection to keep you, your car, and the installed system connected.  The always-connected service works with a free app that is available for iOS 4+ and Android 2.3+.

How Zubie can Help my New Years Resolution?

Having a car that is completely paid off is a great way to find extra cash in your budget, but it takes a lot of monitoring to keep the car in good shape.  I got a car when I started college and paid it off five years later.  Not having a car payment was great, but my car went from good working condition to being unsafe to drive almost over night.  To make matters worse it happened when I was 9 months pregnant.  Not to mention that we had just bought our house.  To squeeze a new car payment in I had to go with the cheapest payment I could find which meant a lease.

Now Jason’s car is hitting the point where it’s almost paid off.  It should have been paid off last August, but we had to refinance it in order to get our mortgage, so we still have a year of payments to make.  That car needs to not only last until it’s paid off, but I want to be able to still drive it for many years after that.  I love that Zubie will give us a heads up with problems that the car may have so that we can get things fixed before they actually become a problem.  Plus Jason often forgets about when he needs to get his oil changed, so I really like that something besides me could remind him!

  1. As someone who holds onto cars until the wheels come off, I like that Zubie keeps you on top of maintenance. I wouldn’t mind it for a Valentine’s gift.
