If you follow our Facebook fan page then you may have seen that I had originally wanted to do a Winnie the Pooh theme for Nick’s birthday party. Then I found out that it’s difficult to find party themed items that are Winnie the Pooh themed anymore. To make life easier we decided to go with a Pixar’s Cars theme. I must say that Nick was very happy with the idea. That meant a new game plan though, so it was off to Pinterest that I went in search of amazing party ideas. Here are some of my party theme inspirations.
I liked parts of this invitation from Great Kid’s Birthday Parties. I liked that it included a picture as well as Lightning, but it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. If you’re doing a Cars themed party you really should check this site out. They have a lot of great free printables as well as tons of game ideas (that we actually don’t need since Nick is too young for that).
I loved all of the color on this invitation as well as the big picture of Lightning. About the only thing that this invitation was missing for me was a place to put Nick’s picture. You can actually order this invitation from Kelli Nicholls Designs on Etsy.
I love, love, love the balloons in the traffic cones! I’ve already order traffic cones from Amazon for Nick’s party! You really should go to The Domestic Project and read all about the Cars party they threw. It looks amazing!
Adorable table set up. Pinned by Sara Davy.
Another really cute table set up. I love how they gave all of the drink bottles a Rust-eze label! Pinned by Kelly McNeil Maloney.
This table runner found at Catch My Party is great. I think I would like to incorporate this idea somewhere, but I don’t think we’ll have room on a table (we won’t have a table to sit and eat at).
Another cute idea from Catch My Party. I would have never thought of using a gas can for serving drinks! Those cups are adorable too, and I saw them while doing a search on Amazon. If Nick was using straws I would totally have bought some!
Cake Decorating Ideas
This cake from Specialistbirthday.com is too cute. I love that they put a “road” on the cake! Since it’s Nick’s 2nd birthday I especially love that it’s in the shape of a 2. The exit sign is very creative as well.
This candle made by Meg at Because I Said So (and Other Mommyisms) is awesome! The best part is that she has very easy DIY instructions on her website of how you can make it yourself. I’d love to do this, but I’m not sure I’ll have enough time. Time is not my friend now days.
This is the first party I’ve planned using Pinterest. It is amazing and addicting! I have so many great ideas, but we’ll see how everything all comes together. I’ll be sure to share the party with all of you. If you have any great idea for a Cars birthday party I’d love to hear them!
