Fisher-Price Activity Booster Seat – A Secret Weapon For Dining Out

Sharing is caring!

Dining out can be such a nice change of pace. Maybe it’s not the healthiest choice, but that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t indulge ourselves every once in awhile. Still if you’re going to have a toddler in tow then it can be a daunting thought. Sure fast food is easy, but sometimes it’s nice to go to a sit down restaurant. Still taking a toddler to a nicer restaurant can be done if you have a few tricks up your sleeve. One such trick that I love is a Fisher-Price activity booster seat.

The activity booster seats are probably one of my all time favorite baby products. I knew that I had to have one long before we were ready for kids. There are many different models of the Fisher-Price activity booster seat. Usually they come out with a new one when they have a new product line. Our booster seat is from the Luv U Zoo line that came out when we were expecting Nick. The only differences between the models are the toys and to some extent the style.

These booster seats are perfect for on the go. They do fold up some for travel although they are still somewhat bulky (that’s about the only bad thing I can come up with). They have straps to strap the seat to a chair. The straps go around the back of the chair as well as underneath the chair. There is also a lap strap for your little one. When folded up one of our straps becomes a carrying handle which is very handy. While putting it on a chair is best we have also slid it into a booth where it was nice and snug.

What I love about the booster seat is that it has a snap on tray that has toys! What parent doesn’t love instant entertainment? In every model I’ve ever seen the toys easily come off when it is time to eat. Our model has a toy bar with toys that spin, get pushed back and forth, and rattle.

Here’s the secret with these activity booster seats….never use them! Haha, OK, you do want to use it, but you really want to limit your use. Ours is only used when we eat out or when we go over to someone’s house. The important thing is to not use it on a daily basis (unless you always use it without the toys). That way when you go out to eat the toys are always new. We almost never go out to eat, but we decided to go to Red Robin a few weeks ago to celebrate Jason’s new job. The toy bar on the booster kept Nick entertained for almost the entire time that we had to wait for our food. It was wonderful! As an added bonus when dining out we don’t have to worry about the restaurant having enough high chairs or boosters. Plus there is no worry about Nick picking up any sick germs from those high chairs and boosters.  This really is a must have!
