Which Yogurt Is The Best Greek Yogurt? #TasteOff
This post is sponsored by Yoplait. All opinions are my own.
Do you like yogurt? As a child I hated it, but around the time I started college I tried it again and found that I really liked it. Now I eat it every day. I haven’t really gotten into Greek yogurt though. We use a plain flavored Greek yogurt at work to make parfaits. I tried a bite of the yogurt last year and hated it. I felt like I was eating a spoonful of sour cream. I haven’t given Greek yogurt a try again until this last week.
I was asked to participate in a Greek Yogurt #TasteOff. Once I had tried both I was to give my honest opinion on them. I was given the specific brands and was told that each had to be blueberry flavor. I hear people all over say how great Greek yogurt is for you, and I know my brother loves it, so I thought, “why not?” Blueberry happens to be one of my favorite flavors, and I figured flavored Greek yogurt would be very different from the plain stuff I had tried at work.
Chobani Blueberry Fruit on the Bottom Greek Yogurt
The first yogurt I decided to try was the Chobani Blueberry Fruit on the Bottom Greek Yogurt. The first things I noticed when I took the foil lid off were that it had a very strong scent and that the top had a lot of water sitting on it. My husband, who had tried it before, told me that you needed to stir it up a lot. He advised me to keep stirring as I was eating it.
Honestly I didn’t like this yogurt at all. It was so thick, and I don’t like any type of thick dairy products. There was some fruit in it, but I expected a lot more since it says that there is fruit in it. Considering the strong scent I was also surprised that it didn’t have much flavor to it. I was able to eat all of it, but it sort of turned my stomach and when I was done eating it I felt I had to eat something else because it just seemed to over power me and I didn’t feel real well. I will not be eating that yogurt brand again.
Yoplait Blueberry Blended Greek Yogurt
The second Greek yogurt I tried was the Yoplait Blueberry Blended Greek Yogurt. After how much I had disliked the Chobani I was a little leery about eating another Greek yogurt, but I needn’t have worried about it. The Yoplait was so good!
The first thing I noticed when I opened the yogurt was that there was no strong, nauseating, odor. The Yoplait yogurt also wasn’t all watery. It was still a tad bit thicker than I prefer, but it didn’t really bother me. I felt like I was eating the same yogurt that I eat every day. It had the same taste as my regular blueberry yogurt. I liked it so much that I was scraping the bottom of the container to get every bite I could.
Did you know that the Yoplait Greek Yogurt has no artificial sweeteners or flavors. It is made with natural colors as well as real pieces of fruit. There’s a lot of fruit in there too! There are 5.3 ounces of yogurt in each cup. It also is available in the following flavors:
1) Blueberry
2) Coconut
3) Pineapple
4) Strawberry Raspberry
5) Vanilla
6) Tangerine

Which one do you like better?

I agree with you on the chobani, too chunky for me. I much prefer the yoplait.
I do love Chobani…I’ve never tried the Yoplait, though…I bet I’d love it! Greek Yogurt can definitely be intense. I’m adding it to my list – the kids aren’t huge fans, but maybe they’d like the Yoplait one. Can’t wait to try it!
Yeah it’s the Greek Yogurt that I think is more my problem. I can’t even handle any milk that isn’t skim, so anything thick bothers me. I think that’s why I didn’t really like yogurt as a kid. The Yoplait was really good though. You should give it a try some time.
Greek yogurt does take some getting used to…glad to hear of one that take a little less time!
It really went down easily. You almost don’t even realize the you’re eating Greek yogurt.
