Nick’s Silly Week

Sharing is caring!

Nick's Silly Week

I had a hard time deciding what to write about for Silly Saturday this week.  Nick had done a lot of cute and silly things this week.  I finally realized that I didn’t want to share just one, so here they all are.

1. Skinny Boy – Many times I’ve mentioned that Nick is long and skinny and that it’s hard to get pants to fit him well.  The other day I put a pair of jeans on him.  I noticed they seemed a little big in the waist, but I didn’t think much of it.  The thing was though that they wouldn’t stay up!  At one point Nick was walking and he stopped, said, “Uh-oh,” and looked down.  Sure enough his jeans were around his ankles!

2. So Polite – There are many days that I feel like I have the most polite toddler around.  One of his main words is “thank you.”  He’s actually been saying it for awhile, but now he says it all the time.  He says it when you give him just about anything.  The way he says it makes the words just sound so cute.  This week he added “please” to the mix (although only Jason has heard it).  Jason said it sounded like “peas” though.  So cute!

3. My Sensitive Boy – I always think it’s crazy when I see my personality (or Jason’s) come through Nick.  I admit that I can get pretty upset when things break.  It drives Jason nuts, but it’s just how I am.  It seems Nick has received that trait.  Earlier in the week Nick was playing happily when all of the sudden he started crying.  I went to see what was wrong and he handed me a frame.  It’s a little frame with a figurine of Tigger on it.  He had broken Tigger (it has happened many times and was totally fixable).  Then yesterday I had grabbed a new Easter book for him while we were at Meijer and he was having a blast looking through it.  It’s a Mickey picture book with flaps.  Well, he accidentally ripped one of the flaps off and got so upset!  When I told Mom about it all she could say was, “He is so your son.”

4. Crazy New Words – I’m always amazed when I hear new words come out from Nick, but this week some of his words blew me away.  My son now knows the words bike and clock.  Clock?  Really?  How many toddlers know what a clock is?  Last night we also had to laugh because we were at my Mom’s house and Nick wanted to go into the sunroom and then asked for the cows.  There are no cows by my mother’s house, but the last time we were there a bunch of deer had been out.  It seems in Nick’s world cows and deer are the same thing.  It was too cute, and he kept looking out the window in the direction the deer had come from.  Sadly no deer were out yesterday for us to see.

5. What? – I thought I had another year before Nick entered the question stage, but he’s already asking why and what.  The other day he took me into the bathroom and wanted me to hand him the ducks (I set some rubber ducks out for Easter).  He was trying to juggle all three little rubber duckies and then grabbed my hand too.  It was so funny trying to see him handle everything that I started laughing.  He then turned to me and demanded, “What?”  Well, that really got me laughing!

Did your little ones do any funny or cute things this week?

  1. My son is long and skinny too — and last week I went to pick him up from the sitter and his pants were halfway down his legs as he ran to me! Thank God for adjustable waists! 🙂

  2. Aw such great silly moments this week. It’s nice to have a week filled with them isn’t it. Just thought I’d share that Austin also loves to point at and say clock when he sees them. There are 3 that he takes a particular interest in our house, one of which has Mickey on it which I think helped start the obsession.

    1. Well, anything with Mickey makes sense ;-). That’s interesting that Austin says it too. I was blown away when he said it the other day. Not one I expected in his first hundred words.

  3. I have a skinny baby, too! She wears cloth diapers, and they seriously hold her pants up…and if she wears a disposable, they fall off. Lol!

  4. He did have a good week. I love to hear all the cute thing that he has done. I love the pic. On the bed.

  5. So fun when they actually start showing their own little personalities…and also frustrating because of the tantrums that come with it. He’s a cutie!
