The Fantasy Becomes A Reality

I am the type of person that needs to travel.  There are times that if I could afford it I would go stay in a hotel in town just to get the feeling that I’ve gone away (although I’ve never done that).  It doesn’t take long after one trip is over for me to be ready for the next one.  Luckily watching Nick grow and develop has been so exciting because it’s almost hard for me to handle the fact that the closest I got to a vacation in over a year was my hospital stay for Nick’s birth.

The time has finally come though to plan Nick’s first vacation.  Later this year we will be taking a 7-day Mexican cruise on Disney’s newest ship the Disney Fantasy.  This ship is so new that it hasn’t even taken it’s maiden voyage yet.  I think for a vacation with a little one a Disney cruise is the way to go.  There are plenty of things to do and if needed your room with your stuff is always right there.  I’m sure Nick will also have a lot of fun because we’re going with friends that will have a three and a half year old and a four month old.

For our cruise we have booked a Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom.  I’ll miss having a deck, but I like that this stateroom has more space because it is extra long.  Plus we do get a nice big porthole with a window cushion.  We have decided to have Nick sleep on the sofa since we don’t want to loose space for a crib.  I haven’t decided yet if will transition him to his toddler bed before we go or not.  We did request a guardrail for the couch so we won’t have to worry about him falling off.

I’ve started doing some basic planning, but there’s still a lot to decide.  We are planning on driving down and staying the night before we board the ship in Disney.  We’ll be staying at an All-Star Resort, but we haven’t decided which one yet.  The big thing that I need to worry about now is getting Nick a passport.

I can’t wait to set sail on Magic!
