Happy 40th Birthday Walt Disney World

Sharing is caring!

Today is Walt Disney World’s 40th birthday. With all of the magic and the joy it brings to it’s visitors it’s no wonder that it has made it 40 years and still going strong.

I have to admit that I am a Disney freak. I don’t mind saying it. When there is a place that I can go where I can be totally happy and forget all of my troubles why wouldn’t I want to go there? I know a lot of people don’t understand my way of thinking. Even my husband was not a Disney fan when we first met. For those of us though that see Disney as a wonderful and magical place to visit we want nothing more than to go back over and over again. Walt Disney World becomes so much more than a place to go. For us it becomes home.

I have so many wonderful memories connected with Walt Disney World. I have the traditional vacation memories from our trips during my childhood, and I have a lot of great memories from when I became an adult. In the Fall of 2004 I got to intern at Walt Disney World through the Disney College Program. I worked at the Pooh Corner/Disney Tails stores in Downtown Disney. During my time in the College Program I got to take Jason around Disney for his first real trip there. Introducing someone to Walt Disney World can be a lot of fun, and it was wonderful getting to see him realize what a fantastic place Walt Disney World was. A year later on December 23 Jason and I were married there. Over the last few years Jason and I have gone back many times. Our most recent trip was last December to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. During the trip I was 5 months pregnant. So many important events of my life have happened at Walt Disney World and I loved that I was able to spend some time there during such an important event in my life.

I can see that the years ahead will contain many more trips to Walt Disney World. I cannot wait to take Nick. Don’t get me wrong we’ll take trips to other places too. Walt Disney World isn’t the only place that I like to go, but it sure tops the list.

What wonderful memories do you have from Walt Disney World?
