Wordless Wednesday: The New Bathroom (Update 1)
We’re in the process of adding a half bath to our house. Very exciting since we only have one full bath as it is. I’m going to be chronicling the process of it during Wordless Wednesday. Here is the first update:
This was the original space. It’s the back hall/mudroom.
We donated our washer and dryer…
and bought a new, high efficiency, washer and dryer that could be stacked.
The first step was to take out part of the wall so the plumber could get to the pipes.
Finally here’s where we stand as of yesterday. Plumbing has gone in for the new toilet…
and the new plumbing for the washer and dryer (they’re getting moved to the side).

Can’t wait to see the finished room! Have you guys decided what type of flooring you’re going to use?
I can’t wait to see the outcome! 🙂
Looks like a project, looking forward to seeing more pics as it comes along!
Can’t wait to see the progress!
I can’t wait to see the end result! I bet you guys are going to really love that extra bathroom!
We can’t wait. Most of the time it’s not too bad, but having a second bathroom will be wonderful.
I love the bright yellow, great color choice!
Well thank you. It’s the color of the kitchen too. It was actually the color of our living room at our last house. There was a lot of paint left. 🙂
very exciting! It’ll be nice to have one more bathroom!
How nice of you to donate the old washer and dryer. The new ones look very cool
It felt so good to give them to people that needed them. They were still in good shape so throwing them out would have been such a waste.
Looking good! Can’t wait to see the finished project! 🙂
What a great use of space! I can’t imagine only one bathroom… I would never get to use it!
I cannot wait to see the finished room. We need to add a bathroom.
That’s great. An extra bathroom is a necessity.
That is such a great idea. Enjoy it!
Oh, we have been there and done that when we renovated our house and plan to add another bath soon. Good luck! I hope the process is as smooth as possible for y’all.
We had some rough patches figuring out how to make some things work, but it seems to be going along well now. Hopefully we won’t hit any major snags!
Now this is just so exciting! I’m happy for you!
AWESOME! I can’t wait to watch the process! How long is it expected to take?
We don’t actually know. Our contractor has hired people to do the plumbing/electrical so timing depended on them too. Plumbing is done and getting approved today and electrical is going in next Thursday, so the bathroom has to mostly be built by then, so it looks like it won’t take too long. Luckily it’s out of the way.
It will be nice to have more room to work in.
It looks better now! Also clears up some space. Thanks for the step my step look! 🙂
Love how y’all have stacked the washer and dryer. Such a space saver!
Aren’t they great? If we couldn’t do that this never would have worked.
