Who Do They Love The Most?

Sharing is caring!

It’s pretty much a given that your child will attach themselves to certain people more than others, and those people can change over time as your child grows.  Boys in my family typically are momma’s boys when they are little.  Of course the fact that they were all sick a lot, I feel, has a lot to do with this.  There’s no getting past the fact that when a little one is sick they typically want Mommy.  Jason and I are pretty lucky in that Nick, for the most part, is attached to both of us.  Overall Nick is more attached to me though.  When I leave he cries.  When I come home he cries as if he is overjoyed at the fact that I actually returned to him.  Still he loves his Daddy a lot.  He loves to play with Daddy.  On Saturday we went to visit Jason at work and you could tell he knew that we were going to see Daddy because he kept saying, “Daddy,” as we were looking for him, and Daddy got a real big hug once we found him.  As much as Nick loves us though I swear there are times that he loves his Nana the most.

Yesterday my Mom and Grandma came over for a visit.  Nick was napping when they got here, but he woke up about 30 minutes or so before they left.  He was so excited to get to see both of them, but he was very excited to have his Nana.  With Nana and Grandma giving him attention I wasn’t even a thought in his mind.  I was more than happy to let them entertain him though.  He was happy to play with Grandma, but he did not want to let Nana go.  My mother had spent Saturday with us as well and Nick was not a happy boy when Nana left.  He sure does love his Nana

Being the one that your little one is most attached to can be hard though.  While Nick loves his Daddy he usually reaches for me when we’re both home with him.  There are times I have to sneak away if I want to be able to do things.  I try to just enjoy it though (although that’s sometimes easier said than done).  It is a wonderful feeling have someone love you, and want to be with you, that much.  I’ve been told to make sure I enjoy it now because when boys get older they often want their dads to do stuff with them.  I always feel bad for Jason when Nick is being obvious in his desire to be with me, but he handles it well.  He realizes how important a mom is to a little one.  Nick’s just at that age when he feels the need to attach himself to someone, and for many little ones mom is often the one they want.

Is your little one attached to someone more than someone else?
