Father’s Day 2012

Sharing is caring!

Father’s Day this year started off with an overcast sky, and a cranky teething baby (Nick’s working on molars).  Luckily his fussing didn’t get too loud, so Jason got the chance to sleep in and relax because he was lucky enough to get the day off this year.  We even made cinnamon rolls for him.  Nick sadly didn’t want to eat his cinnamon roll though.  It seems his gums hurt so bad right now that it hurts to chew anything.

Around lunch time the overcast sky got very dark and it started to rain, but it didn’t ruin our relaxing day.  It was so nice just hanging out together.  Nick played while I sat near him and got stuff done and Jason got to watch the Tigers game (when it was on since they had to pause for a rain delay).

Luckily the rain left by mid afternoon, so it didn’t cause any problems with our dinner.  For dinner we headed over to my aunt and uncle’s.  My uncle grilled some yummy pork chops and we all got to sit down to a nice family dinner.  Well, most of us got to sit down.  This mommy spent a lot of time walking around with Nick since he had little desire to eat, and so didn’t want to spend his time sitting at the dinning room table while the adults talked.  Luckily though he was less fussy by the evening (especially if we let him keep walking), so while I didn’t get to sit down much I also didn’t have to deal with an extremely fussy baby.

It was very simple, but it still was a very nice Father’s Day.  Last year Jason had to work, so it was very nice that we actually got to spend Father’s Day with him (especially since yesterday they asked him to work today, but in the end they didn’t need him).  We wouldn’t have minded some nicer weather for the first half of the day, but overall it was a very nice and relaxing Father’s Day.
