Silly Saturday- Throwing It All Out There
It’s time again for Silly Saturday! The posts where I share the funny things that Nick did during the week. This post is part of a link up with other moms at The Mommyhood Chronicles.
Throwing things isn’t really new for Nick, but it has certainly been the focus of his week. If you saw my Wordless Wednesday post then you saw what Nick’s room looked like on Tuesday when he didn’t nap. Most days this week Nick’s room has looked like that at some point. I must say that watching him on the monitor lifting things and throwing them is quite funny. He hasn’t done it this week, but once he even managed to get his pillow out. That’s saying a lot since he has one of our old flat pillows and not a tiny baby one.
As you can see from the picture above Nick also has a lot of fun throwing toys out of the bathtub during the bath time as well. This is the worst because it results in a very wet floor, and often a very wet mommy! It’s so bad that with the cold weather it can take days for my rug to dry!
Then of course there is the throwing of food. Now I know that this is a very common trick for toddlers, and I know that it drives the calmest parent nuts, but that doesn’t make me feel much better. Nick has not been very hungry this week (I think he’s teething). On most days he eats a decent breakfast, a big lunch, and pretty much no dinner. Of course he has to show me that he doesn’t want any dinner by taking the food on his tray and throwing it every which way! Nick started tossing things off of his tray when we were on our vacation. It started with him tossing his crayons on the floor at The Rainforest Cafe, and he hasn’t stopped since!
I wonder what this new and upcoming week will bring for Nick?

I am so there with you! Zane throws everything- food, clothes, bath toys- you name it! I find it endearing at times, and annoying others, lol!
Isn’t it the truth!
Boy do I ever remember those days. It’s cute for about a minute, but goes on forever.
Yeah, it does seem never ending.
My dude totally does that with the bath toys, too! I have to keep an extra towel on TOP of the bath mat to keep it from soaking through.
That’s a great idea!
wahaha I remember this!
Oh yes, the throwing phase! I’m so glad we’re past that now!
A part of me really looks forward to that day ;-).
Kids, lol.
I am at the same stage with my little girl. She’s adorable but this throwing food thing has got to stop. :/
I know right! There are times you just want to laugh!
Mason throws his toys out of the tub as well I always end up soaking wet and so does the floor!
Someday we’ll look back at these days and laugh. Right? 😉
Oh my! My kids still throw their toys out of the bathtub, though, except now they go further out into the hallway, leaving a trail of water. Fun.
Oh my! I guess you better watch where you step or you’ll really get wet feet.
Awww, hope teething is quick and “painless” for you!!
Thanks Julie. These teeth seem to really be causing him trouble.
Awww. I remember when my boys used to do that. 🙂
My daughter used to do that – bath water and all!
Yeah, I really have to watch the toys that can hold water.
That was very true. She was very good at leaving a good tip.. When Nick starts throwing food do you get him down and say that is it for tonight.
No I just let him keep sitting there. It’s either that or not being able to eat myself.
It’s always funny when it’s not your kid throwing the food!
So true! I remember years ago going out to eat with my cousin and her little one (who was probably Nick’s age at the time) threw her spaghetti everywhere! It almost landed on other dinners! Needless to say my cousin always left a big tip ;-).
