It’s Time To See Thomas Again! #dayoutwiththomas {Giveaway}

Disclosure: I am receiving free passes for my family to visit The Henry Ford and to take a ride on Thomas. All opinions though are my own.
Every kid has something that they’re really into. For Nick it’s anything with an engine. His favorite toys are his cars, planes, and especially trains. Oh man does this kid love trains. You may remember that I got Nick a big train set for Christmas, well he’s already working on collecting a new one. The new set is of die cast trains. He just can’t get enough of playing with his trains. For the last two years we’ve gone to visit Thomas the Train at The Henry Ford, and with the way Nick is into trains right now I knew that not going wasn’t even an option.
Truthfully though I wouldn’t want to miss out on this year’s Day Out With Thomas. Every year we have all had the best time. It’s truly becoming a family tradition for us. We all have a great time going to Greenfield Village at The Henry Ford anytime, but visiting when Thomas is there ads so much more. Especially for a little guy who loves trains! This year is going to be even more exciting for the kids too because now Thomas actually can talk!
The Day Out with Thomas: The Thrill of the Ride Tour 2014 is a fun event that gives children of all ages the chance to take a ride with Thomas the Train. There is so much more to the event than just riding Thomas though. There are also a lot of fun Thomas & Friends themed activities. One of the highlights for Nick has always been the giant toy train display. It’s set up on a very large table, and they actually have spots where the kids can push buttons to make parts of the display work.
The Thomas activities are so much fun, but I must say that having it at Greenfield Village is an added bonus. We love outings to Greenfield Village. It’s such a beautiful location that is full of amazing historical buildings. You can see everything from a working farm, to the actual bike shop that the Wright Brother’s owned, to the house that Henry Ford grew up in. It truly is worth the trip just to visit the village. My grandparents are members, so they are happy to take us to visit often and Nick loves to go there.
The Day Out with Thomas tour will stop in 42 different U.S. cities. The tour is actually in it’s 19th year. By the time the tour is done it is expected that it will have welcomed nearly one million passengers. Thomas will be visiting Greenfield Village for three back-to-back weekends starting April 26. During that time families can take a 25 minute ride around the Village on their favorite engine, meet Sir Topham Hatt®, Controller of the Railway, and enjoy the Thomas & Friends themed activities.
Thomas the Tank Engine rides begin at 9:30am and depart every 30 minutes through 5:00 pm every day, and they will depart rain or shine. Tickets for the Day Out With Thomas: The Go Go Thomas Tour 2013 are $11.75 for members, age 1 year and older and includes free admission to Greenfield Village. Ticket prices for non-member children age 1-4 is $11.75, youth age 5-12 is $27.75, adults age 13-61 is $33.75 and seniors age 62 and up is $32.75. Thomas will be at Greenfield Village on April 27-28, May 4-5 and 11-12.

Oh my, it’s hard to choose but the seeing my children during the 25 minute ride would certainly be a thrill!
This looks amazing! Would love to take my little nephews! I would be excited for some quality time and seeing what this is all about! I’ve heard great things about it
I’m most excited about seeing my boys’ reaction when they see Thomas.
We had so much fun last year and with Evan being a year older he will be so much more excited. He loves his Thomas.
I am excited about taking my 3 kids for the train ride and we’ve never been to Greenfield Village… yet.
I think this would be nice for us all to go check out.
Oh Lisa you must go! Greenfield Village by itself is such a great place to visit. They do a great job of making history come alive.
It sounds like some place we would really enjoy. We have been to Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad in Flint and we really enjoy it there. If you haven’t been there you should try there as well. But yes, I will make it a plan to take the Family to Greenfield Village. I think it’s nice to get away from the normal everyday chaos. Hope they have kettle corn 🙂 The kids love Thomas.
I actually haven’t heard of that place Lisa. I will certainly check it out!
Such a fun time! We had a blast last year.
I am excited about the Train ride with my boys! They love Thomas!!
