A Growing Monkey 7 – 9 Months

Sharing is caring!

7th Month

This was another exciting month.  Nick can now sit all by himself although he still tips over after a little time.  He also started talking this month.  He only talks to things that can’t talk back (the cat and TV for example).  Nick now reaches out and tries to grab everything (and then he puts them in his mouth).  His fingers are always flexing and he loves to feel things.  His feet and legs are also always going.  He is loaded with energy. Nick is having a lot of fun at day care, and he is proving that he is very social. Nick is now wearing only 6 month clothes. At the very end of the month we added yogurt to his breakfast bottle. He has also tried pumpkin, squash, corn, peaches, and pineapple.  He has also become a binkieaholic and loves to cuddle up in blankets. He has two new toys that he likes (a bumblebee and a Winnie the Pooh piano), but he still loves all of his other toys.

8th Month

Nick is a complete chatter box. He talks all the time. His vocabulary has increased, but he still doesn’t use any words regularly.  Besides kitty and hi  he has now also added mama, done, juice, and dada.  This month we put away Nick’s big swing (he was too big) and his gym (he started pulling it over).  It was sad to put them away, but we got to get the Exersaucer out which he now loves.  Other than that not much has changed.  He wears the same size clothes, plays with the same toys, and watches the same shows.  He can sit longer now, but he still falls over after awhile.  We’ve added fruit to his lunch bottle which allows him to have his cereal for dinner (around 5) and only a big bottle before bed.  He also loves to give hugs to people who are important to him, and if he hasn’t seen those people for a few days then they’ll get multiple hugs.

9th Month

Nick’s routine has changed a lot this month.  At the beginning of the month he was really sick with a sinus infection, so his routine was messed up, but during the middle of the month he decide he only wanted to take one nap a day.  So now he sleeps about 2 hours during the afternoon and 12 hours at night.  He also now takes a bath around 7 and then gets a bottle after (he often falls asleep eating it).  He’s still talking a lot.  He’s added no, Tank, and Nana to his vocabulary.  He also babbles dada a lot.  He has a lot of new favorite toys that he got for Christmas.  He especially loves his rainforest toy from Santa and his Hot Dog Dancin’ Mickey.  He sits really well now and rarely falls over.  He really likes sitting and playing with his toys.  He can now hold the crawling position if we put him in it, but he still doesn’t like it or his tummy.  Usually if we put him on his stomach he immediately rolls over onto his back.  He is still wearing his 6 month clothes, but he’s wearing a lot of 6 – 9 month clothes as well.
